CENTRE GIVES OUT FOOD TO NEEDY
10:30 - 08 April
2005
|
Free food is being distributed to the
needy by a new community centre.
The Hare Krishna
Centre, in Evington Road, Leicester, provides hot meals for
the homeless at Leicester's Anchor Club.
In time, the
organisers hope to extend their free food scheme to other
parts of the city.
As well as food, the centre will
also be giving seminars, workshops and classes on subjects
such as stress relief, self-realisation, yoga and
meditation.
The opening ceremony for the centre was
held in front of invited guests from around the
county.
Gauranga Sundaradas, president of the centre,
said: "The community wanted it and we have responded
accordingly."
In an article yesterday about the group's
work we referred to it as a Muslim centre. We apologise for
the
mistake.
